Daracon Group in partnership with their suppliers are proud to announce their participation in Planet Ark's 2024 National Tree Day. This event, which is Australia’s largest community tree-planting and nature care event, aims to inspire communities to plant and care for trees to improve their natural environment.
Daracon's Landscaping Division, in collaboration with supplier Andreasens Green Wholesale Nurseries, donated a variety of trees to enhance Glendore Public School’s green spaces. This contribution will help expand the environmental education for Glendore students on Schools Tree Day on Friday 26 July; and is part of Daracon’s ongoing commitment to community involvement and environmental sustainability.
"Partnering with Glendore Public School for National Tree Day is an excellent opportunity for us to give back to the community and promote the importance of environmental stewardship," said Darren Golby, Daracon Group Divisional Manager - Landscaping. "We are excited to see the positive impact these trees will have on the school grounds and the broader environment."
In addition to Daracon’s contributions, Plant Ark National Tree Day Major Sponsor Toyota has generously donated $500 in vouchers to Glendore Public School to help support their active participation in caring for their local environment.
Daracon Group also hosted a fundraising morning tea for its team members at Beresfield on July 26, to promote National Tree Day celebrations. Each team member was invited to take home a free tree to plant. Funds raised from the morning tea, were donated to support Plant Ark’s Seedling Bank.
Andrew Poloczek, Divisional Accountant and ESG Advocate at Daracon Group was the driving force behind the adoption of this event in the Daracon community calendar, "We can all contribute towards creating a greener future, which is why we are encouraging our team members to get their hands dirty on Sunday 28 July by gifting them a free tree thanks to our Landscaping Division,” he said.
National Tree Day, organized by Planet Ark, encourages Australians to take practical action for the environment by planting trees and shrubs to create greener, more sustainable urban areas. Since its inception in 1996, 27 million trees have been planted by over five million volunteers across the country, thanks to the efforts of schools, community groups, and businesses like Daracon Group.
Black Hill Public School, Wallsend Community Preschool, Minmi Public School, Bellbird Public School, Paxton Public School, Millfield Public School, Ellalong Public School and Kitchener Public School also received tree donations and a $50 Bunnings voucher as part of Plant Ark National Tree Day celebrations, thanks to Daracon Landscaping.
