Summary

Construction of 95 senior living lots at the Shortland Waters Senior Living subdivision included all lead-in infrastructure such as water, communication, high voltage power, rising main, sewer pump station and concrete and asphalt access road within the Shortland Waters Golf Course, adjacent to the University of Newcastle.

Scope of Work

  • Bulk earthworks, including lot regrading and house pad leveling
  • Sewer line and watermain installation, including sewer pump station and rising main
  • Road stormwater drainage and inter-allotment drainage
  • Road pavement construction; both asphalt and concrete
  • Landscaping the main access road
  • Low and high voltage electrical reticulation, including communication reticulation.

Achievements

  • We successfully constructed the scope of works with minimal disturbance to golf course patrons. This was significant due to the reconstruction of main public access into the site
  • Milestone dates for a staged handover of the residential areas of the site, and the need for project builders to commence works in these areas meant a construction program and contract was to be formalised before completion of works
  • Following completion of the building works, we completed roadways, concrete pathways, services and landscaping works
  • Extensive comminution and coordinating with university staff to ensure successful completion of roadways modification and construction of lead-in infrastructure works.
