In honour of World Accreditation Day on June 9, Daracon Group has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability through active internal and external engagement to identify how we can play our role in contributing towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Net Zero emissions target.
Daracon Group is actively engaged in understanding how it can become more sustainable, our everyday operations are conducted in alignment with our accredited and certified systems under the international organisation for standardisation (ISO), specifically ISO14001.
Daracon is utilising its ISO governance to support the development of a comprehensive materiality assessment that involves a rigorous evaluation of various factors, including environmental impacts, social responsibility, governance practices, and stakeholder engagement.
"Being certified to ISO14001 and undertaking this materiality assessment is a crucial step for us to understand the real and tangible mechanisms we can implement to contribute to the SDGs and work towards achieving Net Zero emissions," said Jason Gorton, Divisional Manager – Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training at Daracon Group.
To cement their commitment to sustainability initiatives, Daracon Group is now a Bronze member of Sustainability Advantage, a program run by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, where it works with medium and large organisations to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices across NSW.
With World Accreditation Day serving as a reminder of the importance of sustainability and responsible business practices, Daracon Group is dedicated to making a positive impact in the years to come. By leveraging the insights gained from the materiality assessment, they aim to implement actions that will contribute to a more sustainable future for all.
