Mitchell Dyet, a proud Awabakal man and our Trainee Estimator shares what NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme of Heal Country means to him.
"This year’s NAIDOC Week and theme comes during such an ever trying time. These past couple of years have been quite tumultuous for all Australians. Through floods, fire and disease the theme of this year’s NAIDOC Week represents far more to me than what I first thought. This year’s theme for NAIDOC Week is Heal Country, and to myself it means the importance of remembering those around us and the environment with which we live in. It represents the importance of our family, friends, and the lands with which we live on and how as an Indigenous man we can use our sense of community to help guide and support each other in such times."
