Santa’s Helpers in Hi-Vis: Daracon Team Spreads Holiday Joy

News | Monday, 15th December 2025

Christmas is a time for celebration, connection, and generosity – but for some, it can bring with it added challenges and hardships. This festive season, Daracon is continuing its long-standing support of Samaritans Christmas Giving Tree, and Soul Hub’s 2025 Christmas Appeal. These initiatives provide employees with a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of some of Newcastle’s most vulnerable, helping to bring joy and comfort to those facing difficult circumstances.

“Every year, it is great to see our employees rally behind these important community appeals,” says Daracon’s Director Business Development, Adam Kelly. “We’re proud to help amplify the work of the Samaritans and Soul Hub and encourage Newcastle to come together in support of those who need it most at this time of year.”

The Samaritans Giving Trees will provide a supply of gifts and food for families which may otherwise go without on Christmas morning. In 2024, the Trees provided more than 2,500 gifts for local families thanks to generous community donations. These contributions provide a reminder that no one should be forgotten during the festive season.

Additionally, via Soul Hub’s Christmas Appeal, Daracon employees will be providing essential goods and donations. These include bulk items that are always in need, such as non-perishable goods, pantry essentials, and hygiene items.

Daracon’s relationship with Soul Hub dates all the way back 2007, when they first begun providing the ‘Soul Ute’. The ute played a critical role in Soul Hub’s operations, and was last year upgraded to a fully serviced Soul Van. The upgrade ensures Soul Hub can more efficiently carry out crucial food collections.

Daracon Group is honoured to support initiatives that foster a season of giving and connection, bringing a little Christmas magic to the entire community.
