Safe Work is for Life Across Daracon Group

News | Thursday, 1st October 2026

This October, Daracon Group is re-affirming its commitment to work health and safety as part of this year’s National Safe Work Month. The theme for National Safe Work Month in 2026 is Safe Work is for life – and Safe Work Australia is calling on all workplaces to reflect on the fundamental purpose of Work Health & Safety (WHS), which at its core, is to protect workers’ lives, health and future.

Operating for over 40 years in the civil construction industry, Daracon is proudly supporting the Safe Work is for life theme, which has been instrumental in safeguarding Daracon’s extensive workforce over the decades. Through proactive risk management, workforce consultation, leadership engagement and a strong focus on both physical and psychological wellbeing, Daracon continues to support workers to perform their roles safely and effectively.

“The idea that Safe Work for Life is nothing new to us here at Daracon. We understand that safe work practices are not something reserved for a single month of the year. They are behaviours, decisions and actions that we implement every day to ensure our team members go home healthy and return to work safely the following day,” said Daracon Group WHS Manager, Ben May.

“A key focus for our business is continually upskilling our people, so they understand their responsibilities and accountabilities and are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools required to be successful in their roles. Through training, mentoring, supervision and ongoing engagement, we empower our workers to make informed decisions and actively contribute to a safe and healthy workplace,” he said.

Ensuring fitness for work, both physically and mentally, has always been a priority for Daracon. Whether it is maintaining good nutrition, hydration, physical activity and adequate rest, or seeking support when facing personal or workplace challenges, Daracon team members are encouraged to take a proactive approach to their wellbeing. To support this, they provide access to a range of internal and external wellbeing services and resources designed to help our people maintain their health, resilience and overall wellbeing both at work and at home.
