Rolling for a Cause: Daracon Revvs Up Support for 2025 Variety NSW Bash

News | Tuesday, 15th April 2025

Daracon is once again proudly supporting the Variety NSW Bash (18 – 24 May, 2025), continuing a partnership that spans over 25 years and showcases their commitment to supporting local communities and children in need across NSW/ACT. Team Daracon’s launch event, held on 11 April at West Wallsend Public School brought together kids and supporters alike to raise awareness for the work of Variety, The Children’s Charity.

Welcomed by the school’s Principal, Vanessa Linstrom, Team Daracon took the stage to highlight the significance of the 2025 Variety NSW Bash and the essential role this much-loved community event plays in the lives of children in regional and remote areas across the state.

“What Daracon has built in partnership with Variety is about more than just raising funds; we’re lucky to have them join us here today to share the message of giving and demonstrate how all of us can make a difference to children across the state,” said Vanessa Linstrom, West Wallsend Public School Principal.

Daracon has strong roots in the Wallsend community and surrounding areas, with their Head Office based in James Street, Wallsend for over two decades across their 40+ year history, in addition to their current work on the Western Corridor Road Upgrade project.

“We’re thrilled to be showing the students from West Wallsend Public School our Variety Bash car and watching them experience some of the joy that we know the children we see in regional and remote locations experience when the Bash rolls into their town,” said Michelle Heath, Team Daracon Captain.

Each year, the NSW Variety Bash is a true labour of love, with Daracon Group generously contributing not just financial support but also dedicating their time, staff, and resources to the cause. This includes covering all associated costs, such as registration fees and accommodations.

“Each year we aim to raise over $100,000 for kids in need and we’re hoping to reach our 26-year cumulative milestone total of $2,000,000 if we can hit our stretch fundraising target of $130,000 in 2025. This would be an extra special achievement as Variety, The Children’s Charity celebrates 50 years of making a difference across Australia,” said Michelle.

“Daracon team members have contributed to Variety via our Workplace Giving program for the last two decades, and we can’t forgot how much support we’ve received from our valued Corporate Sponsors along the way,” she said.
