Jacqui Host to speak at IQA 2026 NSW Safety & Health Conference

Daracon is excited to share that Jacqui Host, WHS Coordinator – Construction Materials, will be joining a panel at the upcoming IQA 2026 NSW Safety & Health Conference on 13-14 May, contributing to important conversations around safety, people, and the future of the quarrying industry.

The event brings together leaders from across the quarrying and mining industry to share insights, safety innovations, and best practice. Jacqui will contribute to the panel discussion “Under the Hard Hat. Young Voices, Real People” on Thursday 14 May.

Jacqui’s involvement in the conference builds on her participation in the IQA’s ‘That’s Solid' campaign earlier this year, which aims to encourage school leavers to consider careers in the industry. As part of the campaign, Jacqui shared that she had an early interest in performing arts before pivoting into the mining industry at 18. After a decade of working in the FIFO mining industry, Jacqui sought an opportunity to apply her skills whilst living near the coast. It was from here that she landed in the quarrying industry in Newcastle with Daracon Group.

Since joining the company, Jacqui has gained experience across contract crushing, earthmoving and quarrying, before moving into her current WHS role in which she provides advice and oversight of WHS requirements across three quarries, three batch plants, and multiple mining projects in the Upper Hunter Shire.

“It was a great experience being able to share my career story as part of the IQA That’s Solid campaign earlier this year,” Jacqui said.

“I’m excited to now join my peers at the conference, sharing experiences, learning from each other, and continuing to improve how we keep our teams safe,” she said.
