As part of National Safe Work Month 2025 this October, Daracon Group is reinforcing its commitment and action by supporting this year's theme: Safety: every job, every day. The campaign is calling on all Australian workplaces, regardless of industry, to embed safety into each and every task.
For Daracon, where diverse teams work across civil construction projects and supply construction materials, this principle is woven firmly into day-to-day operations. Last year, the company launched its Safety and Visible Leadership Program, which empowered team members to actively contribute to a safer workplace through Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) practices. This month, Daracon Group is turning its focus to strengthening those practices by revisiting the core steps of effective risk management that are highlighted in this year's National Safe Work Month:
“Worker engagement and consultation have been central to strengthening our approach to risk management, ensuring hazards are identified and controlled collaboratively. Alongside this, a new SWMS template has been developed with simplified flow and a more robust risk and review process to improve usability and compliance across a range of clients,” said Daracon Group WHS Manager, Ben May.
In addition to its systems, behaviours, and leadership initiatives, Daracon places a strong emphasis on employee wellness—recognising that arriving at work healthy and well is essential to preventing incidents and fostering a safe environment. This commitment is supported by a dedicated in-house Wellness Team, which provides a variety of value-add services aimed at improving both physical and mental wellbeing. These include access to a fitness passport, a financial wellness program, access to Teladoc Health and support from trained Mental Health First Aiders.
“At Daracon, we take a holistic approach to safety, recognising that it is shaped by the decisions and actions we take each day. Through our leadership program, wellness initiatives, and everyday behaviours, we’re encouraging our people to look out for themselves and each other, so that everyone goes home safe and well every day,” said Ben who goal is long-term change.
