Christmas is a time of joy, togetherness, and giving, but for many in our community, it can also be a time of significant hardship. Recognising this, Daracon Group is proud to support the Samaritans 2024 Christmas Appeal with a Giving Tree initiative, alongside their continued partnership with Soul Hub through the Hampers of Hope Christmas Appeal and the 2025 Story of Soul Calendar Drive.
Daracon employees are rallying to provide essential goods and donations, helping to ensure that Soul Hub guests and those accessing support via the Samaritans have a festive season filled with care and compassion.
Samaritans Giving Trees help to provide gifts and food for families who might otherwise wake up to a Christmas morning without any gifts under the tree or are unable to share the Christmas spirit. Last year, Samaritans Giving Trees provided more than 2,500 gifts for local families.
Daracon’s Director Business Development, Adam Kelly, encouraged the community to get involved, “With such a strong local workforce, we’re committed to spreading the word about these important appeals, which support people in our own backyard. There’s so much potential for Newcastle to come together and support Soul Hub and the Samaritans at this time of year,” said Mr Kelly.
Daracon has been a dedicated supporter of Soul Hub since 2007, this year upgrading their contribution via the fully serviced Soul Ute to a Soul Van, which is critical to Soul Hub’s ability to collect donations from partners Second Bite (Coles), Top Cuts, Gateway Care, and The Butchery on Brunker, to name a few. The Stories of Soul calendar is full of beautiful photographs and inspiring stories from both Guests and Volunteers – it’s not too late to purchase a 2025 calendar for just $10, with proceeds all going towards the work of Soul Hub.
Daracon Group is honoured to be part of this shared mission to bring hope, kindness, and a little Christmas magic to those who need it most.
