Apprentice Honoured at Regional NSW Training Awards 2025

Daracon Group is proud to congratulate Max Jones on being named a Regional Finalist in the 2025 NSW Training Awards – Hunter & Central Coast Region, in the Apprentice of the Year category.

Max, who is undertaking a Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations through CWBTS (Civil Works and Building Training Services), was recognised for his outstanding dedication, skill development, and contribution to the civil construction industry throughout his Apprenticeship with Daracon.

Although Max did not take home the top award at the regional level, being selected as a Finalist among a highly competitive field is a significant achievement and a reflection of his hard work and dedication to his studies.

“Max’s recognition as a Finalist is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said a Cory Hay, Divisional Manager Plant and Transport.

“He has shown exceptional growth, a strong commitment to safety and learning, and a genuine passion for the industry. His journey is a great example of what’s possible through vocational training.”

The NSW Training Awards celebrate the achievements of the state’s most dedicated vocational education and training (VET) students, apprentices, and trainees. Max’s success highlights the strength of Daracon’s training programs and its commitment to developing future leaders in civil construction.

“Max’s Dad Rob also works for us here at Daracon, so it’s great to see that skilled plant operation runs in the family. He’s a chip off the old block!” said Cory.

Daracon congratulates Max on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to supporting his continued growth and success in the industry.

This is not the first accolade for Daracon and their people this year, Daracon Plant Operator Tim Lamb took out the 2025 NSW CAT Global Operator Challenge in March this year, three Daracon projects were also celebrated at the NSW Local Government Excellence Awards in June and a trio of projects have also been listed as Finalists in the 2025 CCF NSW Earth Awards.
