IT Administrator

We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on candidate IT Administrator to join the team.  The main objective of this role is to provide operational support and management of the IT systems and processes to ensure they run efficiently.  This role will also be a backup to the IT Desktop Support Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide business process analysis, documentation and reports, for system implementation and improvement projects, via self-initiative and management direction
  • Working with users and management, determine the best practice business processes for use across Daracon
  • Planning and scheduling of infrastructure patching and upgrades
  • Assist in the selection of and package evaluation for new IT solutions
  • Provide user training in application software, including report writing tools
  • Provide second level support in application software
  • Document, both for users and technical staff, new business processes and software across the Group
  • Attend to second level hardware and software support issues from users
  • Maintain IT inventory and asset management system
  • Check invoices relating to IT costs, including telecommunications, and provide to management for approval
  • Telecommunication cost analysis and reporting
  • Obtain quotes for software and hardware as required and attend to subsequent ordering and receipt
  • Manage warranty and maintenance contracts on hardware and software
  • Provide relief to other IT roles during periods of staff absence
  • Other duties as may be required

 Key Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of analyzing and producing business process documentation
  • Proven experience in a desktop and infrastructure support role
  • Proven experience with producing management reports from various data sources
  • Proven experience in IT based project management
  • Sound understanding of procurement processes
  • Sound understanding of virtualization technologies and storage concepts
  • Completion of a certificate in information technology or similar

  • Network products, Routers

Software Exposure:

  • Crystal Reports / SQL Reporting
  • Microsoft Server & SQL Server
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Windows (10 Pro)
  • Microsoft Office products both on premises and O365
  • Citrix XenApp

Certificates, licences, registrations required:

  • Current Drivers Licence essential
  • WHS Whitecard (an advantage)

Aptitude and skills required:

  • Sound communications skills demonstrated with the ability to handle user enquiries and to be able to liaise with senior management and executive
