The continued expansion of Peabody’s Wambo Coal open cut mining operations required ongoing permanent restoration of reclaimed areas around the open cut operations. The Site is located approximately 20km north west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
The Works involved ripping, raking, loading, hauling, placing and spreading of gypsum, biosolids and quality topsoil on 150 hectares (1,500,000m2) of reclaimed surfaces complete with subsequent pasture and tree seeding.
Construction of a total of 8km by 6m wide contour banks and a substantial area of 6,000m2 of rock drop structures. Managing and coordinating 10 pieces of heavy equipments from Daracon Plant ranging from Challenger with Spreader and other attachments, D6 Dozers, 140H Grader, 740 Watercarts and 2 articulated 40 ton dump trucks.
A focused, highly skilled and professional Daracon crew of 10 was engaged in this project.
